Firmware Engineer

We have an opening for a Firmware Engineer.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and debug FPGA firmware for handheld medical ultrasound devices
  • Write well designed, testable, efficient code
  • Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility
  • Integrate firmware components into both new and established hardware designs
  • Develop verification plans and quality assurance procedures
  • Document and maintain functionality
  • Serve as a subject matter expert
  • Comply with project plans and industry standards

Education and Training:

  • BSc or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

Required Qualification and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years writing firmware using VHDL
  • Experience with Xilinx FPGA technologies
  • Experience developing within the Vivado software environment
  • Hands on experience in debugging FPGA firmware using software, hardware logic analyzers and Oscilloscope
  • Ability to read circuit schematic related to FPGA hardware
  • Ability to write C/C++ software for testing and for integration with firmware
  • Strong interpersonal skills and verbal communication skills in English
  • A self-starter and wanting to grow with the company
  • Attention to detail and the ability to produce efficient documentation

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with Zynq 7000 and Zynq Ultrascale+ MPSoC products
  • Experience with Vivado HLS tools and development
  • Familiarity with software development methodology and release processes
  • Embedded (Linux-based) development
