Your Role
As our Supplier Quality Engineer, you'll oversee the quality of components from our suppliers, focusing on reducing errors, enhancing communication, and ensuring our AI-powered ultrasound systems meet the highest quality standards. This role is crucial to smooth production and quick issue resolution.
You'll ensure all parts meet Clarius’ specifications, improve supplier communication to avoid misunderstandings, and swiftly address any issues to minimize production delays. You'll also work closely with suppliers to maintain quality and improve processes while keeping internal stakeholders informed.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Acting as the liaison between Clarius and suppliers to improve quality over time.
- Ensuring suppliers meet product quality and regulatory requirements through capability reviews and audits.
- Keeping track of supplier performance and qualifications.
- Identifying improvement opportunities to enhance quality and reduce costs.
- Collaborating with suppliers and engineers to bring new products to market, ensuring all standards are met.
- Leading investigations when supplier materials are problematic and working on preventive solutions.
- Defining quality expectations for materials and products alongside the engineering team.
- Inspecting products and processes with the quality team to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Regularly updating production procedures with the manufacturing team to maintain accuracy.
- Supporting improvement methods (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Your Experience So Far:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or similar).
- At least 2 years of experience in quality engineering or supplier quality management, preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and FDA regulations.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, and QMS software for issue tracking and supplier monitoring.
- Familiarity with quality tools like Ishikawa, FMEA, 8D, and SPC.
- Skilled in dimensional inspections, GD&T, and interpreting engineering drawings and CAD models.
- Hands-on experience with Non-Conformance (NC) and CAPA processes.
- Self-driven, with strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented, strategic, and analytical thinker.
- CQE or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
- Auditor experience (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, CFR 820) is a plus.
- Mandarin language skills are a bonus, but not required.
Location and Compensation:
Due to the hands-on nature of the responsibilities, the role will be primarily based in-office role at our Vancouver headquarters. The salary range is CAD 70,000 to 90,000.
