Cardiac Parasternal

The PLAX view is great for identifying cardiac function, but it is limited in its ability to identify tamponade. The parasternal short axis view analyzes the different sections of the heart from the base to the apex. The papillary muscle level is used for ventricular wall motion segmental analysis.
