Strain Elastography allows for the visualization of stiffness differences between surrounding tissues. Through light manual compression, the technology analyzes the radiofrequency signals to discern small variations in how tissue compresses to generate a colorized overlay within a spectrum ranging from hard to soft. When imaging nodules or some soft tissue masses, greyscale differences may be difficult or unapparent – strain elastography can thus help provide more context.
