1. “Number one by far is image quality”
Clarius gets you images like you’re using a much more expensive system. And this is sort of what everybody fears, right? They’re going to go to a handheld device, they’ll go to a cordless device and they’ll think the image quality is going to suffer. And image quality is sort of the sex appeal of ultrasound. Everybody likes the best image they can get and they think there’s a huge trade-off, but there really isn’t. The images that you’re going to get on this device are really comparable to what you would see in cart-based systems.”

What do you think the biggest barrier is to getting people to use ultrasound when they should? A lot of times it just comes down to the simple fact that they don’t like to take that big cart and push it in the room, set it up, plug it in, turn it on, choose the transducer, all these other things that are going on. They’re much more likely to grab that scanner if it’s just sitting in a charger or sitting in their pocket and they’ll walk in the room and take it out and immediately do that exam.”

3. “The more I used a cordless transducer, the more I liked it”
I realized that the cord always kind of gets in the way. It tends to break a lot. It’s the dirtiest thing around, it’s hard to wrap up and keep it in your pocket. So, I really like the fact that it’s cordless.”

You can go in to Clarius Cloud, do your study, complete it, document your findings, and then by literally just hitting a button, it’s going to push those images up into the net and archive your images so you can pull them back, move them around, send them to other clinicians. You’re getting this extraordinary ease of moving that data and archiving it so that you can recall it later or share it with other healthcare professionals.”
5. “You’re saving money because it’s much, much cheaper without sacrificing image quality”
If you compare the cost of this device to a cart-based system, you’re talking a factor of 10 to 15, maybe even 20, depending on the type of system you’re using. So, it’s very, very inexpensive. This scanner is fantastic. Everybody’s very, very excited about it in my department, and I really look forward to seeing where this thing is going to take us over the next five to 10 years.”
