Third Trimester Umbilical Cord Insertion Site

Once the position of the placenta has been determined, locating the placental cord insertion can provide added reassurance of a normal pregnancy.   Dr. Dehaeck uses color Doppler to confirm that the cord insertion is central and therefore normal.

next we're going to have a look at the umbilical cord insertion site and use the color doppler so we're having a look to see where in the placenta the cord inserts and so i saw we were previously scanning here i think it's right about here so then i'm going to go i can see a bit of the cord there so i'm going to go to color doppler there we go it looks like it's inserting here nicely in the center of the placenta perfect we can take a picture of that since we're quickly able to at the bedside demonstrate the cord insertion using color doppler
