- Pro-tips for today’s busy regional anesthesiologist
Master your superpowers! Learn pro tips for using wireless ultrasound to guide your regional anesthesia injections, improving both speed and accuracy to deliver maximum pain relief fast.
Which doctor runs around the hospital most? Regional anesthesiologists are highly mobile, running to the pre-operative area to perform a supraclavicular block, to the operating room for an intra-articular injection, to the post-anesthetic care unit to do a pectoralis nerve block, and then to physical therapy to check on a continuous catheter to ensure correct positioning. Using mobile ultrasound gives them superpowers!
Ultrasound has became the recognized standard of care for needle-guided interventions. While bigger ultrasound machines have their place in hospitals, for 70% of regional anesthesia procedures, the speed and high-definition image of handheld ultrasound with an iPad get you there, in-and-out, faster. No more guessing where your needle is or wasting precious medications or adjuncts. No more wires contaminating your sterile prep area. No more bulky system slowing you down.
Join Dr. Greg Hickman in this practical webinar as he reveals his master tips by taking you around the hospital and sharing three real-life patient cases recently captured on video. An early adopter, pioneer, and educator in ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia, Dr. Hickman will help you hone your regional anesthesiology skills to make you more lean and mobile.
« In our world in anesthesia, we’re moving from spot to spot to spot. I’m doing blocks in pre-op area, I’m doing them in the operating room, I do them in the PACU. You have to move quickly sometimes, and you’ve got rooms turning over and moving and surgeons waiting on you and you have to be fast, » says Dr. Hickman. « So the ease and the comfort and the mobility of wireless ultrasound, for me to be able to move to these places and get it done, is really helpful. »
Dr. Greg Hickman is joined by your host Dr. Oron Frenkel, MD, Emergency Physician and Chairman of the Clarius Medical Advisory Board. Watch today to take your procedural skills to the next level with ultrasound-guided injections and strategies you can use on your next patient!
