Clarius in the News: Medical Observer

Clarius was recently featured in Medical Observer.

The article highlights how ultra-portable ultrasound scanners will likely become an extension of our normal clinical examination. Below is an excerpt:

The probes are waterproof and tough. Although quite weighty, they nestle comfortably in your hand. Applying the gel and cleaning the probe after use is simple.

The batteries can be charged and then inserted as required and there is almost no delay between turning the probes on and seeing images.

The probes are designed for point-of-care use, and need to be allowed to cool after 20 minutes of continuous use. I can’t think how often you would use these for that long so this is not an issue for the average GP.

With appropriate training, these tools could be amazingly useful in a rural area for initial triage or conditions ranging from abdominal aortic aneurysms to broken ribs.
