How to Scan the Kidneys Using Ultrasound

A kidney ultrasound is a noninvasive diagnostic exam used to assess the size, shape, and location of the kidneys. It is also useful for assessing blood flow to the kidneys.

In the latest of our series of educational ultrasound videos, ultrasound educator Chris Eddy uses the Clarius Curved Linear ultrasound scanner to scan the kidneys.

By using the Clarius scanner he is able to assess the kidneys and the bladder to look for any signs of hydronephrosis or kidney stones.
