hi I'm Virginia Robinson and I'm a full-service family doctor in Fernie BC we're going to review the bladder scan on ultrasound starting with the probe in transverse with the marker towards the patient's right I like to start with the synthesis pubis in view which is a bright white echogenic line at the top of the screen I can then sweep through the bladder in transverse which you're seeing on the screen right now and once I get to the largest portion of the bladder I can freeze the image and with my calculations calculate a pre-void volume all I have to do is press in the middle of the screen and make some adjustments to get the full bladder volume in transverse I then unfreeze I turn my probe in sagittal and if I touch the middle of the screen after freezing again make some small adjustments I can calculate the pre-void volume which in this case is 126 cc's that concludes the bladder skin foreign
