hi i'm dr camilla edwards from first opinion veterinary ultrasound and today i'm going to show you how to take a fine needle aspirate from a phantom but ultrasound guided so we need to know where our probe is facing so we can compare that to the screen and we place the probe over the phantom to find the olive structure within it and we want to guide our needle very close to the probe and we follow that on the screen might need to make tiny adjustments to keep that on the screen but we can see the line of the needle approaching the phantom olive once we've entered the lesion or the olive in this case then we can do a slight woodpecker movement before removing the needle and we follow the needle out as it goes there we go and that's how to do a ultrasound guided fine needle aspirate
