hi I'm Dr Camila Edwards from first opinion veterinary ultrasound and today we'll be looking at how to scan the spleen of a dog so we want to follow the costal arch up until we find the spleen at this point where we have the stomach um cranial and the kidney cordal we want to look underneath the ribs to look at the SP spenic head and we'll need to increase our depth to be able to see the whole of the splenic head we then want to lift the probe up so that we're seeing a narrow thin spleen and follow the spleen in transverse all the way down to the tail of the spleen when we get there we want to rotate the probe so we get a a longitudinal view of the spleen and we fan through that section slide up a section fan through that section slide up a section fan through that slide up and fan again until we reach the the ribs the costal Arch that's how to scan the spleen on a dog
