When breast cancer responds well to neoadjuvent chemotherapy, tumours can be difficult to identify pre-surgery. In this video Dr. Ahmed uses high-resolution ultrasound in his office to locate marker clips and proceed with surgical planning. Research recent found that “ultrasound-assisted breast surgery significantly increases the possibility of tumor-free margins and therefore reduces the risk of reoperations,” recommending that “ultrasound should be available in every breast surgery operating room.”
