AlloClae™, for BBL and Non-Surgical Body Contouring: A Practical, Ultrasound-Guided Approach
In this 1-hour session, Dr. Franco will:
- Break down what alloClae is, how it’s processed, and why it behaves differently in the body than synthetic fillers or fat grafts
- Demonstrate how point-of-care ultrasound is used before treatment to assess candidacy, measuring subcutaneous fat thickness, and confirming the depth of the gluteal fascia and underlying muscle
- Show real-time ultrasound guidance for cannula placement into the optimal tissue plane, keeping injection safely above the gluteal fascia and away from named vessels throughout the procedure
- Identify ideal candidates for AlloClae-based BBL and body contouring, including patients with insufficient donor fat, prior BBL revision cases, and those seeking a lower-risk alternative to surgery
- Discuss the risks and possible complications associated with gluteal augmentation, and how pre-procedure imaging and real-time guidance work together to reduce them
- Share outcomes, patient-selection pearls, and practice-building considerations for surgeons and injectors adding AlloClae to their offerings

Join board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Johnny Franco, MD, of Austin Plastic Surgeon, for an in-depth look at alloClae™, the allograft adipose matrix reshaping how plastic surgeons and aesthetic practitioners approach non-surgical buttock augmentation and body contouring.
As patient demand grows for BBL-style results without the risks, downtime, and donor-site requirements of traditional fat transfer, alloClae is quickly becoming one of the most requested additions to the aesthetic menu. Dr. Franco will show you how to deliver it safely, predictably, and with confidence.
Dr. Franco will unpack alloClae itself: a structural allograft adipose tissue product, processed and sterilized from donor fat while retaining native growth factors and collagen. Unlike synthetic fillers, alloClae is designed to integrate with the patient’s own tissue, offering a soft, natural feel and look without the need for liposuction, fat harvesting, or general anesthesia. For patients who are lean, have had a prior BBL, or simply want to avoid the downtime of surgery, AlloClae offers a compelling middle ground between temporary fillers and traditional fat transfer.
Dr. Franco will devote significant time to the role of point-of-care ultrasound across the treatment journey. Pre-procedure, he uses ultrasound to assess each patient’s anatomy before ever picking up a cannula: scanning to identify the fascial plane that separates subcutaneous fat from muscle.
During the injection itself, Dr. Franco will show how real-time ultrasound visualization allows the cannula tip to be tracked continuously, confirming that alloClae is delivered into the optimal tissue plane rather than dropping into or below the gluteal fascia, where the major vessels responsible for fatal fat emboli are located. Rather than relying on tactile feel or landmark-based technique alone, practitioners can visually verify plane and trajectory with every pass, adjust in the moment for individual anatomic variation, and confirm even distribution across the treatment area, improving both the safety margin and the consistency of results.
No injectable is without risk. Dr. Franco will candidly review the possible complications of gluteal and body contouring injections. He’ll make the case that ultrasound, used both diagnostically before treatment and as real-time guidance during it, gives practitioners an added layer of safety, more predictable and symmetric outcomes, and a documented record of correct plane placement that blind, landmark-based technique simply cannot provide.
Finally, Dr. Franco will get specific about where alloClae fits into a modern aesthetic practice: softening hip dips, restoring volume lost to aging or GLP-1 medication use, correcting contour irregularities after liposuction or weight loss, and giving practitioners a same-day, in-office option to meet growing patient demand for non-surgical body contouring.
Whether you’re a plastic surgeon exploring non-surgical additions to your BBL practice or an aesthetic practitioner looking to expand your body contouring offerings safely, this
