in this video we see a linear scanner on a musculoskeletal preset here placed in the axial plane of the posterior knee and immediately we see a substantial fluid collection that is deep to the subcutaneous tissue but superficial to the actual joint itself as evidenced here by the bony shadows in the deep screen this represents a baker's cyst and this baker's cyst has a finding suggested that it is a complex with all these internal echoes and fibrous tissue inside suggesting is also that it's mature and has been here for quite some time this kind of finding is usually related to long-standing degenerative joint disease or osteoarthritis or potentially other injuries and issues with the knee that have led to a chronic knee effusion
