Skip Lesions / Patchy Infiltrate

Areas of B-lines with spared regions of lung (“skip lesions”) are suggestive of a patchy interstitial disease such as COVID pneumonia or other interstitial syndromes.

in this video we see the phased aray scanner placed in the coronal plane as evidenced by this pictogram of the chest and what we find as we play the video is there's a skip lesion such that half of the screen shows this ragged thickened plura and essential obliteration of the aines below versus here we see the normal lung pattern with aines this is suggestive of an intermittent process where part of the lung is affected and part of it is unaffected and you can see this throughout the chest particularly in Co pneumonia or other patchy lung diseases such as viral pneumonias or interstitial fibrosis
