For Angie Lloyd-Jones, the CEO and founder of Aspire UK, ultrasound is nothing short of a superhero in the world of imaging.
I think of all imaging modalities, it’s essential to have this because ultrasound is a timely dynamic form of assessment,” Angie explains. “So, it means that you get instantaneous results and when done well and interpreted correctly, the impact this can have on immediate patient care is phenomenal.”
We recently sat down with Angie to discuss her passion for ultrasound and how her company’s training programs are helping vets become confident and competent practitioners.
Watch this 3-minute video to learn why Aspire chose to include Clarius handheld ultrasound in their training programs. Read on for some highlights of our discussion.
Fast Tracking Ultrasound Proficiency with Ongoing Guidance
For many veterinarians, getting started with ultrasound can feel like a steep hill to climb. Aspire UK offers a unique blend of training and support designed to help vets master this critical skill. While many programs stop at online courses and workshops, Aspire emphasizes the importance of ongoing mentorship and support. This continuous guidance is what truly helps a learner fast-track their journey.
Aspire’s workshops are intentionally kept small and intimate, with a high mentor-to-delegate ratio to maximize learning. Delegates hands-on experience with a variety of portable ultrasound systems, including the Clarius C7 Vet HD3.

Why Clarius Is a “Handy Kit” for Veterinarians
Having seen the Clarius system at the London Vet Show, Angie and her team were impressed by the image resolution and beam penetration of the Clarius system.
From an educational point of view for our clients and delegates, I would say that the Clarius is a great starting point for learning ultrasound, because it can be as simple or as complex as you want that tool to be,” says Angie. “It’s intuitive. The interface is quite easy to use. You don’t have a very deep knowledge of ultrasound controls to be able to manage with the Clarius system.”
Angie is quick to remind new Clarius users not to confuse simplicity with a lack of power.
There’s a misconception that because it’s small, because it’s affordable, then it’s probably not going to be all that good, which is not true at all.
One of the things I love about it that I’ve just discovered is the AI component, the artificial intelligence,” Angie adds. “So, there’s voice control. Now, I’ve been in a situation where I’ve been holding my dog, I’ve needed some images, and I’ve needed a third hand that I didn’t have if I’m on my own. So being able to talk to the Clarius to control the image optimization is fantastic.”
The Aspire UCS 8 Step Abdominal Survey Step 1: Diaphragm, Liver, and Gallbladder
In this video, Julie and Angie from Aspire UCS demonstrate techniques for scanning the diaphragm, liver, and gallbladder, as well as what to look for during the ultrasound evaluation.
Clarius Wireless Ultrasound for Veterinary Practice

Angie calls it a «great tool to have in your back pocket,» noting its affordability and robustness.
