hi my name is Shelly and in this video I'll show you how to obtain a cardiac four chamber view otherwise known as the apical four chamber View using the clarius PA scanner in the cardiac preset so we'll have the indicator pointed toward the patient's left and I'm going to place the scanner in the region of the cardiac Apex from here we'll just move the scanner slightly to find the right rib space and rock the scanner just a little bit until we can get the longest View of the heart and sometimes that requires pressing a little bit on a rib so from here on the right side of the screen we can see the left ventricle and atrium and on the left side of the screen we can see the right ventricle and atrium and once I've assessed how well both of the ventricles are pumping I can enter into color Doppler and place the color Box by dragging my finger over the mitral valve where we can look for mitral regurgitation and when we're satisfied with that we can drag the color box over the tricuspid valve to assess for tricuspid regurgitation as well so the apical four chamber view provides lots of valuable information about the mitral and tricuspid valves as well as the function of both ventricles foreign
