hi it's Dr John Arlette in Calgary Alberta Canada we're using our l20 HD3 for Dermatology purposes we're examining a patient who has had a number of skin cancers and is presented with a with some new lesions we're now going to look at one in the right conkle Bowl so an area where malignancies especially basal cells can occur so we've got our gel in in the conco bowl to make it easy we have our preset at Dermatology we're going to take a look at the lesion in the concubine so there's our lesion there we can see our gel pad above we can see our lesion very well demarcated we can see the margins of it we can actually see that it goes down to the perichondrium so if we were going to remove this using this information we would simply take the perichondrium out and perhaps a little bit of the cartilage behind it and submit that for histological review so yes ultrasound for planning treatment of basal cell carcinomas as well as helping with the diagnosis let's take a look with the color Doppler we know that in some areas this will be very helpful for making our diagnosis and assessment we can see in this area most of the vascularity is from the posterior aspect of the ear we've passed through the cartilage we do have a little bit of vascularity medially but not as much Associated just with the lesion so a really a nice adjunct to the therapeutic modalities that we have now another way of being accountable in our therapies and also in assisting our patients in our planning for their treatment good
