Join Dr. MJ Rowland-Warmann, founder of the Smileworks Aesthetic Training Hub, as she teaches expert techniques for visualizing fascial layers and vascular structures for the safest and best filler outcomes.

In this 1-hour webinar, Dr. MJ teaches how to use wireless ultrasound to optimize the safety of dermal filler injections in the cheeks, temples, and tear troughs. High-resolution ultrasound is an important tool used to ensure consistent, predictable injections every time. Learn to achieve more aesthetically pleasing results for your patients! Dr. Rowland-Warmann will show us how to:

  • Identify the fascial planes of the cheek, temples, and tear trough with high-resolution ultrasound
  • Visualize the tip of the cannula and use color Doppler for safe, strategic filler placement
  • Avoid the superficial temporal artery when injecting into the interfacial plane
  • Visualize the orbicularis and the angular vein and artery for effective tear trough injections
  • Ensure successful cheek injections are visualized at the lid-cheek junction
  • Identify existing fillers and demonstrate filler placement for increased patient satisfaction

Dr. MJ considers ultrasound the most ground-breaking development in aesthetic medicine since the invention of filler. It’s giving medical practitioners an edge by looking under the skin to effectively visualize blood vessels and nerves to avoid complications, while also placing fillers in the right plane for the best results.

“As we gain more experience with the use of high-resolution ultrasound in the practice of facial aesthetics, we’re seeing more predictable outcomes with less product,” says Dr. Rowland-Warmann, who has honed her ultrasound skills to expertly visualize skin, muscles, vessels, and fascia to ensure safe and successful dermal filler injections.

Join Dr. MJ as she demonstrates expert ultrasound techniques for visualizing your cannula and anatomy at the injection site for safer procedures and to deliver the best patient outcomes. Using case study video footage recently captured with patients on camera, she demonstrates ultrasound-guided procedures in three areas with elevating risks of occlusions.

She demonstrates how to safely inject in the deep cheek fat compartments to restore volume. Despite being a lower risk area, Dr. MJ demonstrates her ultrasound-guided technique to confirm her cannula placement, using color Doppler to confirm the absence of vessels in the injection areas.

With elevated risk of severe complications like skin necrosis and blindness, the tear trough is one of the most challenging sites for filler injections. Visualizing the location of the angular vein and artery relative to the cannula is an important step to avoid irritation or injection into these vessels. Dr. MJ demonstrates how to guide your injections to deliver safer tear trough injections beneath the orbicularis oculi muscle while visualizing vessels using color Doppler to avoid complications.

The technique for temporal injections has evolved over the last few years. Visualizing your injection correctly into the interfascial plane is key for a more predictable outcome and longer-lasting results. Again a vascular occlusion in this higher risk area can lead to blindness, so it’s important to confidently visualize the superficial and deep temporal arteries. Dr. MJ demonstrates her advanced ultrasound-guided techniques for optimal temple filler outcomes.

Dr. MJ is joined by your webinar host and sonographer Shelley Guenther who performs live scanning using the new Clarius L20 HD3 – now 30% lighter, more affordable, and specialized for facial aesthetics. She demonstrates how easy it is to add best-in-class ultrasound imaging to your medical aesthetic practice.
