Congestive heart failure affects millions of patients and remains one of the most common causes of hospitalization, yet it’s frequently under- or mis-diagnosed in the primary care setting using clinical exam alone.
In this practical, case-based webinar, Dr. Tatiana Havryliuk, founder of Hello Sono, will walk through a structured POCUS protocol for CHF assessment that integrates three essential views: the lungs, the heart, and the inferior vena cava (IVC). By the end of the webinar, attendees will be able to:
- Identify B-lines on lung ultrasound and correlate findings with pulmonary congestion
- Perform a focused cardiac assessment to evaluate LV function
- Locate and image the IVC and assess collapsibility to estimate volume status
- Integrate lung, cardiac and IVC findings into a unified CHF assessment workflow
- Recognize with POCUS findings should prompt urgent referral or intervention.

Attendees will learn how B-lines on lung ultrasound indicate pulmonary congestion, how a focused cardiac exam can reveal reduced ejection fraction and pericardial effusion, and how IVC diameter and collapsibility serve as a reliable surrogate for volume status and right atrial pressure.
These important techniques will help guide clinical decision-making at the bedside. Whether you’re new to POCUS or looking to formalize your CHF scanning protocol, this session will give you a practical framework you can apply immediately in your clinical practice.
Emergency Physician
Dr. Tatiana Havryliuk , M.D
Dr. Havryliuk is an emergency physician, formerly ultrasound director at the Brooklyn Hospital, and founder of Hello Sono. Throughout her 15 years of clinical practice, she has relied on POCUS to make informed clinical decisions whether it was in an urban ED, urgent care, or Everest Base Camp. Dr. Havryliuk is now on the mission to extend the benefits of POCUS to primary care and urgent care practices by addressing the key barriers: lack of POCUS competency and operational readiness. She and her team at Hello Sono offer in-person provider training and support with credentialing and implementation to build high quality, compliant, and financially sound POCUS programs.
