Your Role

The Manufacturing Technician will play a dynamic role in building ultrasound scanners. The role requires versatility as a hybrid Material Handler, Shipping Receiving assistant and Manufacturing Assembly Technician, seamlessly transitioning between departments. Physical strength and manual dexterity are essential, particularly for the installation of ultrasound grips and precise handling of components across various tasks.

 

The Manufacturing Technician is a self-starting, proactive problem solver who assembles ultrasound scanner components and transducers to specifications, conducts meticulous quality inspections, and strictly adheres to ISO and material handling standards. Maintaining current training credentials, strong understanding of the Quality System, complying with production schedules, and promptly reporting material shortages are also integral aspects of the role. Daily activities include a variety of repetitive and non-repetitive assembly operations in the production of our medical devices. 


Your Responsibilities Include:

Grip Installation:

  • Use specialized holding and clamping tools to install rubber grips to the ultrasound devices.
  • Conduct regular inspections for maintenance and troubleshooting.

 

Shipping & Receiving:

  • Prepare orders with attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring proper documentation for efficient shipment.
  • Unpack and stock inventory, enter incoming materials into the system, and assist in kitting production orders.
  • Monitor inventory levels, verify deliveries against purchase orders, and maintain clear communication within the shipping & receiving group and across departments.

 

Inventory Control:

  • Manage inventory throughout the build process, including kitting and movement of materials into various stages.
  • Perform computer transactions using internal tracking systems (NetSuite, Arena, Excel) to track the progress of scanner components and conduct inventory and cycle counts.
  • Troubleshoot inventory discrepancies and maintain accurate records for efficient inventory management.


Your Experience So Far:

  • At least 3+ years of hands-on experience in assembly line operations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for tracking systems, are essential.
  • Experience with NetSuite and Arena is highly advantageous. Considerable physical strength and manual dexterity are required for installing grips on medical scanners.
  • Experience in shipping & receiving, and inventory management is preferred.
  • Good hand-to-hand and hand-to-eye coordination, is essential for precise handling of delicate components and equipment.
  • Attention to detail to ensure consistency in assembly processes and Inventory Control.
  • Excellent team player, readily offering support and assistance across various tasks and departments as needed.
  • Familiarity with operating within ISO-accredited facilities, adhering to quality standards and protocols.


Location and Compensation:

Due to the nature of the role, you will be on-site 5 days a week. Therefore we can only consider candidates who are based within a commutable distance from our Vancouver, BC office. The salary range for this role is set at $50,000 to $55,000.
