Long axis view of the Achilles tendon insertion to the calcaneous can identify multiple features suggest of chronic tendonopathy: enthesophyte, disorganized tendon fibers, calcification, and fluid surrounding the tendon.

this is the linear scanner placed longitudinally over the achilles tendon where it inserts into the calcaneus normally we'll see nice longitudinally long fibers oriented this way along the achilles tendon but here we'll see above the calcaneus which is normal and it's bony shadowing and additional bony prominence suggestive of an anticipate and chronic inflammation additionally as we scan through the tendon we'll see areas of presumed calcification or scar tissue and even some fluid tracking around the tendon disrupting those normal organized fibers suggestive of an ongoing tendinopathy at the insertion of the achilles tendon to the calcaneus you
