hi I'm Dr camil Edwards from first opinion vetenary ultrasound this case is a Stafford Vol terer who was 9 years old male muted and he was suffering from dramatic weight loss and diarrhea so here we're looking at um some of his intestines um so we can follow this Loop of lumen of intestine through um where it it's apparently normal over here and then we come through here and we've got this Mass on the on the side of the intestine and we can follow from normal right through to abnormal all of this Mass around the Lumen is thickened intestinal wall so again we've got the Lumen here and then this thick intestinal wall and we can follow it onto some normal intestine and again in this image we can see this really really thick wall here we're um having a look for any um signs of um flow through looking for how vascular this mass is so that we can take a fine needle aspirate um and assess what cells we find here again we're measuring so this is the Lumen which I Absolut absolutely don't want to hit with my needle but I do want to get cells from this Mass surrounding um in the wall of this Loop of J junam so I measure from this corner down to um a good way into the lesion we can see that measurement up here and that indicates what length needle I need to take a sample so in this case a fine needle aspirate confirmed an intestinal lymphoma
