hi I'm Jana and today we're scanning a second trimester pregnancy and I've already entered the patient demographic and the patient due date based on her dating ultrasound and we're going to be measuring the baby's abdominal circumference so I'm going to locate the abdomen in a transverse plane and I'm lining up the stomach and also the umbilical vein here on the baby in transverse and when I'm happy with the image I can freeze my image here and I can select the measurement package under abdominal circumference and I'm going to place a caliper posteriorly at the spine and anteriorly on the baby's abdomen and I can adjust the calipers as needed so that it goes right around the circumference of the baby and here I'm getting 15.3 CM it shows the measurement on the left part of the screen here and that's 20 weeks and 3 days and we can save that image and that's how we can easily measure an abdominal circumference on a second trimester pregnancy
