Poor characterized abdominal pain can be the harbinger of severe disease when abnormal liver architecture or masses are identified.

in this video we see the curvilinear scanner on an abdominal preset placed in a sagittal plane in the right upper quadrant in this patient who presented with abdominal pain the liver is visualized and there is obvious sign of abnormal architecture of the liver discontinuous with all this normal level architecture here that appears to be well demarcated this is highly suggestive of a mass in the liver we can see another one down in this region and as the liver is scanned through there appear to be multiple of these masses in various locations of the liver the differential diagnosis for this is of course malignancy but certain infections can do this as well as well as other tumors of the liver these kinds of findings on a point of care ultrasound absolutely mandate secondary imaging to better characterize what the nature of these findings are you
