OB Fetal Heart Rate

Fetal heart rate can be measured in either M-mode or PW Doppler mode by measuring the displayed graph from peak to peak.

hi my name is esther i'm going to be showing you how to do a fetal heart rate today with pulsed wave and m mode once you have the fetal heart in the center of the screen you go to the modes icon on the bottom left hand side and select m mode once the dotted line appears you move it to the fetal heart and you place the dotted line in the fetal heart you freeze the image then you go to your measurement tools and you select fetal heart rate then you would measure from peak to peak for 124 beats per minute to use pulse wave doppler you would go to the modes icon and select pulsed wave doppler place the doppler gate into the fetal heart and once you have a good tracing you would freeze the image and measure again from peak to peak go to your measurement tools bottom left hand side select fetal heart and measure from peak to peak for your fetal heart rate
