Pausing and Ending an Exam

Shelley Guenther

You can pause an exam and complete it later by shelving it. This can be used, for example, when scanning a bladder for urine retention or early pregnancy and the patient’s bladder is not fully distended for complete imaging.

hi my name is shelly and today i'm going to show you how to pause an exam and to end the exam there's many situations where you may be part way through an ultrasound exam and you need to pause it if the patient has to go to another test or if you get called away there's no need to actually end that exam because you can continue scanning another patient in the break so the way you do that is you go to your scanning screen and hit the back arrow and there's a little icon called more on the bottom right and here there's something called shelf exam that's clarius lingo for pausing the exam so now you'll see the demographics have all disappeared i can start a new patient i can finish that exam and then when i want to restart this exam i'm going to hit the back arrow and hit this menu button up here i'm going to select exams and here's the study that we paused so all i have to do is click on that study it repopulates his information with the demographics and we're ready to go we can scan some more when i'm finished the exam i go the back button and at this point i can end the exam i make sure that i'm going to send my images to the cloud and we're done you
