Power Doppler can be used to detect blood flow, particularly when looking for small vessels with low velocity. It is more sensitive to low flow states and less angle dependent than traditional colour Doppler.

hi my name is shelly and today i'm going to show you how you can do power doppler imaging with your clarius scanner now power doppler imaging is more of an amplitude based color doppler which means that it's more sensitive to low flow states and is less angle dependent than regular color doppler so to access your power doppler you just go into the mode settings and turn on the power doppler now power doppler is non-directional so it's just going to show in one color but there you can see the sensitivity that we're seeing of the blood flow of the thyroid so there you can see how power doppler can be more sensitive than color doppler in certain low flow states you
