i'm oran franklin emergency physician scanning the hip can help me identify joint diffusions or guide procedures when i need to under direct guidance to do this scan i'm going to use a curvilinear scanner here and i'm going to start transverse on the high leg identifying the femoral shaft as i come up the leg and it starts to change shape i'll rotate the transducer to really elongate the femoral neck and visualize the femoral head and the acetabulum from here i can see the femoral neck and identify if there's the presence of a joint diffusion or if my goal is a procedure i can safely guide a needle with direct guidance right into the joint space delivering my medication exactly where it needs to go you
