hi my name is Shelly the l20 is also the ideal scanner for interrogating the temporal artery when giant cell arteritis is suspected so to image the temporal artery I've chosen the vascular preset with the l20 and I'm going to place the scanner over the patient's Temple I have a very superficial setting here and I'm going to look for that very tiny artery so we can see the vessel here and in cases of arteritis we would see an enlarged vessel edema of the wall color Doppler is sometimes helpful for evaluating the Lumen of the vessel and then as well in real time I can trace that vessel not only looking in one point but scanning a very large section of the vessel in order to come to a more definitive diagnosis so as you can see the l20 is a great choice for interrogating the temporal artery
