The Clarius system has got a very good image, especially for more superficial tissues and the Clarius voice control features are a fantastic thing for me in the office. It helps me maintain a clean area; I can use voice-activated settings to change the gain and needle mode as I need it. Clarius ultrasound has helped me deliver the best patient care, because I’m able to track outcomes with my patients and show them we’re making progress.”

I can see the needle go in and where the fluid’s going in and the patella tendon and I can see the joint. It really opened my eyes to the possibility that this was something that I could get into because we do a lot of dry needling and soft tissue treatments that we could monitor before and after.»

For a physician who has a sports medicine, orthopaedic, or physiatry practice. It’s an advanced device at an entry-level price, and that’s rare. Traditionally there’s been a direct correlation between the money you spend and the image quality you get on laptop machines ranging from 28,000 to 60,000+ USD. Now, with Clarius, for about 5,000 USD all in, you’ll get a device with the image quality you need that will carry you all the way through your orthopaedic career until you want to do more advanced diagnostics and procedures.”

It can see that first two and a half to three centimeters exceptionally well. There are other machines out there on the market that we would call kind of an all-in-one, that can be everything to everybody, but we all know that’s a fantasy. The L15 HD3 is perfect for sports medicine.”

It’s the sexiest scanner that exists today. It’s absolutely gorgeous. It blows the total socks off of any other scanner out there. It’s a dream tool. It’s smaller. It balances nicely in my hand. The imaging quality, I think, is more impressive. I think the sensitivity on the Doppler is also better.”

It was good to understand the cause of my pain as it helped calm my mental anxiety about what was going on with my shoulder. It’s important to have a visual and to have somebody walking you through the visual as it’s happening is pretty empowering as a patient. Not being a medical person, it actually helps to have a doctor tell me what I’m seeing and where I’m seeing it. It does really help to hear that there isn’t any major trauma to the site other than the inflammation. That actually feels good.»

Anacortes Physical Therapy is the home of my healthy body. The more tools that a skilled therapist has, the better it can be. And in this case it’s a very effective tool. I would definitely consider that to be the mark of somebody who’s interested in providing quality service. The thing [Clarius] was just totally a game changer for me: basically biofeedback under ultrasound to teach me how to flex my transversus abdominis. That information for that back injury was really helpful in order to organize my body and be able, you know, to do my robotic motions. It’s really amazing and you can see so well with the ultrasound, so that was huge.»

I learned to use Clarius quickly and really liked its portability. It’s lightweight and easy to hold in your hand and doesn’t take up floor space. Image quality is as good or better than the cart-based systems I’ve used. It’s also much faster to power up and down compared to bigger units. I find the cost affordable, when compared to other imaging modalities. This is especially important when you are starting a business. I can show patients in real-time what I’m seeing and I find they’re more confident in my diagnosis.

I am thankful that Clarius has brought this level of advanced quality imaging to an ultrasound device that is affordable for clinicians like me. Here’s to a future with greater, more relevant tissue diagnostic information to the fingertips of more and more POC clinicians.

The use of ultrasound at the point of care is essential and valuable. Clinicians in sports medicine, physical therapy and general practice should be equipped with a Clarius given its price point. Immediate access to ultrasound imaging helps reaffirm the primary assessment of patients improving clinical decisions and reporting. It is simultaneously a great education tool that enhances patient interaction & the clinical experience.
