I do believe that the Clarius probably has the nicest resolution of the handheld units that are out there for cardiac imaging. Honestly, it really surprised me. I mean, we could see all the heart chambers we needed to and more. We were able to do the short axis, long axis, four-chamber view, so that really, really surprised me. We were very quickly able to answer the binary questions that we usually do with point-of-care ultrasound.”

It’s a lightweight, portable machine that you can hook up to any of the usual devices that you’ve got. It’s wireless, which is a great advantage as we discussed before. I’ve really enjoyed using the Cloud aspect of the Clarius as well. I teach a lot of people ultrasonography, a lot of vets, and a lot of my students are able to easily send me images for review through the Cloud system. In early 2021, I set up an animal ambulance vehicle as a mobile treatment and operation unit. My aim was to fit in the most modern diagnostic equipment in this small space. I’ve been bragging about my Clarius system. I’m impressed with the image quality and I think it’s very reasonably priced for all its features. It has automated presets for vet and it’s very simple to use. The features like pinch to zoom, freeze frame and automatic gain adjustment are just so good. The convenience and simplicity of it is why it will sell so well. You can pull it out, turn it on and away you go – no connecting cables. Compared with the other ultrasounds on the market for the quality you get with it, it is incredibly affordable. Out of 10, I am giving it a 9.4.
