in this video we see the phase array scanner placed on the left side of the chest in a cardiac preset in the parasternal long axis orientation and we identify the pericardium interventricular septum left ventricle right ventricle left atrium and here's the mitral valve and quickly we can see findings that are highly suspicious in this case of a dilated cardiomyopathy and depressed ejection fraction as evidenced by lack of thickening of the ventricular walls there is not a good fractional shortening meaning the walls are not approaching each other well and this anterior leaflet of the mitral valve is not coming anywhere near the septum with its beats all suggestive of systolic heart failure in this patient who presented with shortness of breath you
