M-Mode – Fetal Heart

In this video learn how to activate M-mode to get a motion tracing of the fetal heart motion. Fetal Heart Rate can be accurately measured on the m-mode using the OB measurement package.

hi my name is shelle and today we're going to show you how to locate the fetal heart and do an M mode measurement to establish the heart rate so we're going to just place our scanner over our little baby here and again I'm going to zoom the image just find that makes it easier to see and right there we can see some fetal heart activity so in order to establish a heart rate I'm going to go into the M mode and we'll place our little line right over that flickering heart and we can see on this side we're getting a little broken line on the M mode image so from here we can go in and select the fetal heart rate icon and place our caliper at one cycle and I'm getting a heart rate of 156 beats per minute which is normal for this time so we'll take an image of that so that that measurement goes into the report and we can go back to live Imaging
