the knee. It's a complex joint, but don't worry, Clarius has you covered.
Whether you're new to msk ultrasound or you're just brushing up on your skills, you're going to want to watch this one. I'd like to introduce you to Clarius T-
mode knee. Now, let me show you how it works. I'm using the Clarius L7 scanner.
You can also use the L15 or the PAL linear array scanner. And I've selected
the knee preset. So to begin with, I'm going to demonstrate just below the knee, fairly midline, and I'm going to start scanning.
Now, once I've got my image, and I'm fairly perpendicular to the skin, I'm going to activate T- mode. And right
away, we'll see a real-time graphical representation of tissue types. We've got skin, fat, tendon, and bone.
Now, if I want more information, I'm going to hit the freeze button, and labels will be placed over the different tissue types and different structures.
Now, I also have the ability to view these labels in real time just by tapping on this T icon. And you can see
that as I scan, we're getting labels in real time.
I also have the ability to adjust the opacity of the grayscale image. And this is sometimes helpful when you're learning as well. It's just a personal preference.
Great. So, I'm going to return to 2D.
This time I am going to move to the lateral knee and I'm going to palpate for the fibular head. Just straighten your knee a little bit there.
And we'll place our scanner where we're expecting to see the knee joint here.
And then when I activate T- mode, I can see the meniscus, tendons, and ligaments.
We can look at that in real time.
And that updates nicely. So if I want, I can take a picture and the image as well as the labels will be stored to the
Clarius cloud. So let's go back to 2D and go to the medial knee.
Now again, I'll activate my T- mode and our live labels
and we can actually evaluate what we're looking at here. So, a really nice teaching tool.
Now, if I want to go back to 2D and look at the back of the knee, get you to roll on your side there, Mike. Great.
Straighten. And right back there. Good.
I can place my scanner in the region where I'd be looking at different muscles and blood vessels. And we can
activate our T- mode once again and freeze for anatomical information.
